What are we about?

• We provide 24/7 assistance in the form of maternity care, support during labour and information and advice.
• We provide comprehensive care and aim for the same maternity nurse to help you throughout your postnatal period.
• With Het Groene Kruis, you’ll feel right at home. We ensure that our care aligns with how you pictured your first week postpartum.
• With our very own Borstvoeding Expertisecentrum ‘Breastfeeding Expertise Centre’, we’re experts in breastfeeding. We have Lactation Consultants and Breastfeeding Coaches in each team of maternity nurses. You’re also in safe hands if you need bottle-feeding tips.
• We work in teams, in close collaboration with midwives and midwife practices. That way, there’s always a maternity nurse near you.
• Your wishes are at the heart of what we do. We don’t provide standard maternity care – we look at your needs as our client.
• The health of a mother and child is our top priority, but we focus on other family members too.
• After the postnatal period, you can also come to us for family support during your baby’s first year: BabythuisZorg.
• Our maternity nurses provide developmental care. This means we tailor our care to your baby’s physical signals and reduce stimuli. By doing this, we soften the transition from the cosy womb to life outside of the womb, meaning your baby will experience less stress.
• Our organisation has expert maternity nurses who will prepare you for your postnatal period and parenthood by providing practical advice. They receive continuous training.
• We provide maternity care in the three northern provinces of the Netherlands and we work closely with midwives, gynaecologists and hospitals.
• We have contracts with all health insurers.

• We work with a digital client file and we send out pregnancy-related emails containing a wide range of useful information, advice and tips.
